Dance, Dialogue Mark World Dance Day Celebrations in Lucknow

Lucknow: Celebrating the spirit of rhythm, expression, and wellness, a vibrant “Nrityotsav and Samvad” programme was organised on the occasion of World Dance Day under the aegis of Udaan Sanstha at its auditorium in Indira Nagar.

The event brought together art enthusiasts and performers, highlighting the deep connection between dance and health. The समारोह commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by chief speaker Sarita Singh, a senior folk dancer, who underscored the importance of dance as a medium of connecting with nature’s energy.

In her address, she noted that dance not only enhances creativity and concentration but also serves as a powerful remedy for stress—one of the most pressing challenges of modern life. She further elaborated on the nuances of classical and folk dance forms while engaging with participants and addressing their queries.

The cultural segment began with an energetic group performance by Khushboo, Seema, Poonam, and Kavita on Vande Mataram, evoking strong patriotic fervour among the audience. This was followed by a series of captivating performances by Nandani, Kalpana, Riya, Pooja Gupta, Shikha, Aaradhya, Mayank, Mamta, Poonam Yadav, Mohini, and Anita, who enthralled spectators with a lively presentation on Mere Dholna.

Adding to the charm of the evening, Savita, Rachna, Mishti, Kavya, and Aavya delivered a graceful and expressive dance performance on Mohe Panghat Pe Nandlal Chhed Gayo Re, leaving the audience mesmerised.

The programme successfully blended artistic expression with meaningful dialogue, reinforcing the role of dance not just as an art form, but as a pathway to physical and mental well-being.
